New Zealand victorious over Bangladesh after 47 overs

NZ 258/6 (47.3 overs) BAN 257/9 (50 overs) In the second match of the Ireland Tri-Nation series, New Zealand emerged victorious over Bangladesh The Kiwis won the toss and chose to bowl, with Bangladesh setting a target of 258. Colin Munro, with 16 runs off 14 balls, struck the winning run off the bowling of Mashrafe Mortaza in the 48th over. Santner, who came in for the departing Neesham, was also at the crease with five runs off three balls. Captain Tom Latham and wicket keeper Luke Ronchi opened the batting for the Black Caps, with Ronchi dismissed by Mustafizur in the last ball of the 7th over after scoring 27 runs off 27 balls. First down George Worker was run out by Shakib Al Hasan on 17 runs off 24 balls in the 17th over. Latham was finally dismissed by Rubel Hossain in the 21st over, after scoring 54 runs off 63 balls. Ross Taylor was next to get out, adjudged lbw off Mustafizur's bowling after scoring 25 runs off 40 balls in the 31st over. Neil Broom, who came in at third down, brought New Zealand to the cusp of victory with a steady 48 runs off 65 balls before he was dismissed lbw by Rubel Hossain on the last ball of the 43rd over. James Neesham, on a quickfire 52 off 47 balls, was caught out off the bowling of Mashrafe on the last ball of the 46th over. Earlier, in the Bangladesh innings, Tamim scored 23 runs in a strong opening stand with Soumya Sarkar, prior to being caught out on the second ball of the 16th over. Sabbir Rahman, coming in to replace Tamim at the crease, faced only four balls and scored one run before he was bowled out by Santner in the 17th over. Soumya scored a stylish 61 off 67 balls before finally being dismissed on the penultimate ball of the 25th over. His replacement, Shakib Al Hasan, could not emulate the opener's long stay at the crease and returned to the pavilion after scoring just six runs off 14 balls. Mushfiqur Rahim edged a ball to the keeper to get out in the first ball of th 37th over, after scoring 55 runs off just 66 balls. Mahmudullah kept the scoreboard ticking, racking up 51 runs off 56 balls until he was dismissed in the 47th over Mosaddek Hossain also put up a confident performance for his 41 runs off  41 balls, but lost his composure trying to flick the ball over short leg in the final over. Mehedi Hasan Miraz and captain Mashrafe Mortaza also lost their wickets within the last six balls, Mashrafe via a run out, leading to a strong finish for New Zealand and Hamish Bennet, who ended the innings with bowling figures of 3 wickets for 31 runs. The Black Caps made one change to the team that beat Ireland on Sunday with the aforementioned Bennett replacing Scott Kuggeleijn. Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza, having served his one-match suspension, returns to lead the team. He replaces Taskin Ahmed in the only change from their abandoned first match against the Irish.
