Comilla Victorians registered a comfortable victory by seven wickets over home side Chittagong Vikings during their BPL 6 match at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury stadium in Chittagong on Tuesday.
The match was curtailed to 19 overs due to rain. Chittagong elected to bat after winning the toss and lost regular wickets from the beginning.
Eventually they managed to score 116 in 19 overs losing eight wickets. Mosaddek Hossain was the top scorer with 43.
In-form all-rounder Shahid Afridi took two wickets conceding just 10 runs while Mohammad Saifuddin and Wahab Riaz also took two each.
In reply, Comilla reached their target after 16.4 overs. Opener Tamim Iqbal remained unbeaten in chasing and scored 54 off 51 balls while Shamsur Rahman scored a quickfire 36 off 22 balls.
Afridi was adjudged man-of-the-match.

Key Moments
Mushfiq goes early
Vikings had a slow start under overcast conditions at the ZACS and lost two early wickets. In-form skipper Mushfiqur Rahim came in to bat at number four for the Vikings and their situation worsened after Mushfiq got out scoring just 6.
Zadran wicket halts Vikings
Afghan recruit Nazibullah Zadran came to bat at number five and smashed two sixes, one over cover and one over deep-square leg. The left-hander was looking good with the bat and could possibly pull out Chittagong from the trenches of a below-par score. But he also went back to the pavilion scoring 13 while trying to smash another one against spinner Mehedi Hasan and was caught at deep mid-wicket in the seventh over.
Mosaddek scores some runs
Mosaddek Hossain scored some useful runs in the late stage of the innings to help Chittagong pass the 100-run mark. The right-hander scored 43 off just 25 balls with three fours and three sixes. His innings proved that there were no demons in the pitch and other batsmen just played poorly.

Anamul’s struggle with the bat continues
Comilla promoted Anamul Haque Bijoy to open the innings. And the right hander had a good chance to score some runs under his belt as he made a golden duck last match where others batsmen scored heavily. Anamul started watchfully and hit a confident shot which went to boundary. But he got out in the next ball and another good chance was missed for the wicketkeeper-batsman.
Tamim guides the way
Chasing a 117-run target, Comilla opener Tamim Iqbal batted confidently and made sure he remained unbeaten till the end. The left-hander picked up another half-century in his BPL career. He scored 54 off 51 balls with four fours and two sixes.
BPL standing
Comilla have now registered their seventh win of the season among ten matches. Chittagong have lost three in a row and remain winless at the ZACS with 12 points from 10 matches.
