Bangladesh overpowered Thailand on their way to a nine-wicket victory in the Women’s ACC Asia Cup T20I 2018. The women in red and green after their convincing wins against Pakistan and six-time champion India, bulldozed Thailand at Kinrara Oval in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Thursday.
Bangladesh are now close to meeting their ambition of playing in the final of the six-nation tournament. With three wins in four matches, Bangladesh, who have six points, are sharing the top spot with India and Pakistan. A win against host Malaysia Saturday will see Bangladesh contest the grand finale, against either India or Pakistan.

Asked to bat first, Thailand were able to post only 60 runs losing eight wickets in their stipulated 20 overs. Thailand at one point were seven wickets down with only 39 on the board. However, the side’s best partnership of the innings - 21 - between captain Sornnarin Tippoch and Sirintra Saengsakaorat propelled the score to 60.
Only three Thailand batters were able to reach double figure with Nattaya Boochatham scoring the highest 15. Bangladesh captain Salma Khatun and Nahida Akter grabbed two wickets each while Jahanara Alam, Fahima Khatun, Khadija-tul Kubra and Rumana Ahmed picked up a wicket each.
