Bangladesh women's football team striker Krishna Rani Sarkar, who scored a brace in Saff Women’s Championship final, and Coach Golam Rabbani Choton have been accorded a red-carpet reception in Tangail.
Tangail district sports association organized the reception program on Saturday.
The association rolled out a red to receive them. They were also given crests.
Krishna Rani Sarkar was given Tk1 lakh and coach Golam Rabbani Choton was given Tk50,000 on behalf of the association.
Besides, Zilla Parishad Administrator and District Awami League President Fazlur Rahman presented gold chains to Krishna and Coach Choton.
Besides, the district administration handed over Tk1 lakh to Krishna and Tk50,000 to Chhoton while the superintendent of police gave Tk1 lakh to Krishna and Tk50,000 Chhoton as well.

At the event, Krishna said: “I feel very happy receiving the reception from my district. The manner in which the reception is given is an inspiration to move forward. There are many games ahead, we will do them well.
“After seeing the light of the world, I have never seen what happiness is. From the day I learned to understand, I have seen my father’s suffering. My success is due to the support of coaches and teachers. I thank them and the people of Tangail,” she said.
Krishna also said: “I want everyone's prayers so that I can give something to the country by playing better.”
Krishna's father Basudev Chandra Sarkar said : “I am very happy with the success of my daughter. People are greeting her with flowers. May Krishna bring more glory to the country.”

Krishna visited her village home in Tangail on Thursday, for the first time since her team clinched the Saff championship title on September 19.
A warm reception was given to her in the district town where hundreds of people were waiting for her arrival from adjacent areas with flowers.
Krishna played a key role in the Bangladesh team’s 3-1 victory in the final match over Nepal and lifting the maiden Saff championship title, by scoring two goals.
