Television actress Samira Khan Mahi has won the Miss Universe Bangladesh 2026 title at a ceremony held at a hotel in Dhaka on Saturday.
Mahi succeeded last year’s winner, Tangia Zaman Methila, who crowned her during the ceremony. The two embraced before walking across the stage together.
According to the organisers, Mahi will represent Bangladesh at the 75th Miss Universe competition in Puerto Rico, with activities scheduled to begin on November 11.
Speaking after her win, Mahi said her parents had encouraged her to “go and conquer the world” and asked for the public’s prayers as she prepares for the international competition.
Mahi will follow in the footsteps of Methila, who represented Bangladesh at the 74th Miss Universe competition in 2025. Competing against contestants from 122 countries, Methila reached the top 30, securing Bangladesh’s first placement in the pageant. She also topped the People’s Choice category.
The new title adds a national pageant achievement to Mahi’s television acting career.
