Artist Fareena Samhee Nethee will hold her first solo exhibition, Silent Expressions, at Batighar Art Space in the Asiatic Centre in Banani from August 1 to August 10.
Organized by the Mongol Deep Foundation, the exhibition will be inaugurated at 4pm on August 1.
Oracle Bangladesh, Nepal, and Bhutan Country Managing Director Rubaba Dowla will attend the opening ceremony as the chief guest. Veteran actor and painter Afzal Hossain and Gallery Chitrak Executive Director Md Muniruzzaman will attend as special guests.
Supported by Vertex Chambers and SAJIDA Foundation, the exhibition will feature a collection of Fareena's original acrylic paintings.
According to the organizers, the title Silent Expressions reflects the artist's belief that painting can communicate emotions beyond words through color, shape and form.
Fareena, a hearing-impaired artist, developed her artistic practice through workshops and has previously participated in several group exhibitions. Her works were featured at the International Group Art Exhibition organized by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) in Kolkata in 2017 and the Special Art Exhibition marking the 101st birth anniversary of Shilpaguru Safiuddin Ahmed in 2023.
The exhibition will remain open to visitors daily from 4pm to 8pm until August 10
