Roid, directed by Mejbaur Rahman Sumon, has won the Critics' Award for Best Asian Film at the Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF), adding another international accolade to Bangladeshi cinema.
Announcing the achievement on Facebook, Sumon thanked the festival, its programming team, and the jury for recognizing the film.
"Deeply honored that Roid has won the Critics' Award for Best Asian Film at the Da Nang Asian Film Festival," he wrote, also expressing gratitude to jury members Kong Rithdee, Hoàng Câm Giang, and Hoàng Thu Hằng.
Members of the film's team also celebrated the award, congratulating Sumon, lead actors Nazifa Tushi and Mostafizur Noor Imran, and the entire cast and crew.
The film also stars Gazi Rakayet, Ahsabul Yamin, and Riad.
The recognition comes amid growing international visibility for Bangladeshi films, with Roid joining a new wave of productions earning acclaim at major global film festivals.
