After years of speculation, delays, and uncertainty, HBO’s acclaimed teen drama Euphoria is officially coming to an end.
Creator Sam Levinson confirmed that the series will conclude with its third season following Sunday’s explosive finale, bringing one of television’s most talked-about dramas to a close.
The finale delivered a string of shocking deaths while also paying tribute to late cast member Angus Cloud, who died in 2023 at age 25.
The episode marked the end of several major characters, including Zendaya’s Rue, Jacob Elordi’s Nate Jacobs, and Martha Kelly’s Laurie.
The announcement hardly comes as a surprise.
Rumors about the show’s future had circulated for years, fueled by a four-year gap between seasons and reports of creative challenges behind the scenes.
Lead star Zendaya had previously hinted that season three would likely serve as the series’ final chapter.
Speaking recently, HBO executive Francesca Orsi said the lengthy delay reflected the scale and ambition of the new season, while Levinson described it as the show’s strongest yet.
Since its debut in 2019, Euphoria has become a cultural phenomenon, earning critical acclaim for its bold storytelling, striking visuals, and performances from a cast that helped define a new generation of television stars.
With its final chapter now unfolding, one of the defining dramas of the streaming era is preparing to take its last bow.
