‘Thirty Five’ to premiere at DIFF

Ashique Mostafa's film “Thirty Five” will have its Bangladesh premiere at the 21st Dhaka International Film Festival. On January 15, the film will be screened at the National Museum Auditorium at 5:00pm.

“Thirty Five” is a creative film that explores the nostalgic days of celluloid films in Bangladesh. The film is a reflection of the ups and downs in Bangladeshi film industry's history.

National Award winning late cinematographer Mahfuzur Rahman Khan is the narrator of the film. He narrates the old days at FDC, how it used to be, how the scenes were captured etc. The renowned cinematographer in the film explores those days when 35mm films used to dominate the film industry in Bangladesh. Mahfuzur Rahman Khan died in 2019, after completing the shooting of the film “Thirty Five.”

Ashique Mostafa, director of “Thirty Five,” is an independent filmmaker, producer and writer. Actress Airin Sultana played a guest role in the film.

“Thirty Five” previously had its world premiere in 2022 at Iran International Film Festival.
