The British Council in collaboration with Britto Arts Trust and Tara Theatre has organized an exhibition styled as “Artists Make Space” where the artworks of a total of 14 artists from Bangladesh and the UK were showcased. The exhibition in Dhaka was inaugurated at the British Council on December 7 and closed on December 13.
Programs Director of the British Council Bangladesh David Knox and writer Mahmudul Hossain graced the inauguration ceremony with their presence. The exhibition was curated by Mahbubur Rahman from Britto Arts Trust and Natasha Kathi-Chandra from Tara Theatre.
This was a collaborative exhibition where 7 Bangladesh-based artists and 7 UK-based emerging artists took part with a view to connect and co-create new multidisciplinary works together. The project had been commissioned to commemorate the illustrious journey of 70 years of the British Council in Bangladesh. The sole purpose of this exhibition was to create a safe space for people to creatively engage and voice their views through a range of artistic mediums.

After successful completion of the tours in London, Birmingham and Manchester with Tara Theatre, two exhibitions have previously been held at the Rashid Choudhury Art Gallery of the University of Chittagong, and Kobi Nazrul Auditorium in Sylhet with Britto Arts Trust in November 2022. The latest exhibition titled, “Artists Make Space” was organized in Dhaka at the British Council and Britto Arts Trust.
