Dhaka University Film Society (DUFS) held the charity film screening titled "Film for Flood Victims” from June 19 to June 20, 2022, at the TSC premises of Dhaka University.
A total of eight Bangla classic and contemporary films were screened at the event. All proceeds from the ticket sales would be donated to the flood victims.
“Pich Dhala Poth,” “Ei Ghor Ei Songsar,” “Ghetuputra Komola” and “Monpura’”were screened on the first day.
Mostofa Sarwar Farooki’s “Television,” Imtiaz Ahmed Bijon's “Matir Projar Deshe,” Anam Biswas’ “Debi” and Giasuddin Selim’s “Gunin” were screened on the second day.
In addition to film screenings, funds were also raised through selling artworks of students.
K M Itmam Islam, General Secretary of Dhaka University Film Society, said, “We have organized this film exhibition to raise money for flood relief. The entire money collected from the event will be donated to the flood victims.”

People of Sylhet division have been experiencing severe floods for the past one week and 80% areas of Sylhet and Sunamganj districts have been flooded, leaving four million people marooned.
The death toll has climbed to 22 as of today.
