Anushka dazzles as SRK’s Radha

The movie Jab Harry met Sejal, which is scheduled to hit theatres on August 4, has been inviting a lot of attention - first because of the unique promotional techniques the makers are employing, and secondly because of Shah Rukh Khan returning to do what he does best - making the ladies go weak in their knees. The film’s popularity reached new heights when 7000 would-be Sejals across the country reached out to Shah Rukh Khan through letters. This is after he declared that he will visit the city with the maximum number of Sejals to launch the new song “Radha”. But by the first few glimpses into the movie, it seems that Anushka Sharma is the one most geared to grab the attentions of the audience, not only with her brilliant acting, but with the freshness she brings to the scene with her appearance in the song “Radha”. So far, Anushka Sharma’s career has been impressive, to say the least. The actress has been choosy in the kinds of movies she signs and produces. 2015 and 2016 have been amazing years for Anushka, with releases such as her first home production NH10, Bombay Velvet and Dil Dhadakne Do, followed by Sultan and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in the next year. While Anushka has experimented with a lot of genres, comedy is one space that she has not ventured into. When asked about it by a leading daily, Anushka said, “Comedy is a very exciting and a difficult space. Either you have it or you don’t. Obviously, I would love to challenge myself. But it has to be in sync with my sensibilities. I won’t be able to do a mindless comedy. Leave that, I can’t do anything mindless.” She added, “Maybe, people don’t see that side in me. Also, we don’t see such great comedies being made. It’s rare. Love films like Pineapple Express, that’s legendary. Then there’s This Is The End. I love such films because they are genuinely freaking funny.” Maybe audiences will see Anushka in a comedy film if there is a good script. But for now, besides Jab Harry Met Sejal, she also has her third home production Pari in the offing. The movie began shooting earlier this month, with the actress sharing the first poster of the movie on social media. Sharma also has Aanand L Rai’s as of yet untitled film up next, which will also star Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif in the lead. Anushka will also be seen in Rajkumar Hirani’s Sanjay Dutt biopic that stars Ranbir Kapoor in the titular role.
