Gaan Bangla to broadcast 'Music for Peace' on Facebook

Amid the coronavirus pandemic, Gaan Bangla has revived its international platform 'Music for Peace.'

Musicians from all over the world are taking part in Gaan Bangla's platform to inspire viewers in quarantine, through their performances.

Two live shows are broadcast every day from 9pm to 11pm on Gaan Bangla's official Facebook page. The initiative was taken on Friday. Today it was announced that the United Nations Development  Programme (UNDP) will help facilitate the program as well.

The Managing Director of the channel, Kaushik Hossain Taposh said: “Musicians have always come forward in times like these to give people hope. We saw this happen during our Liberation War as well."

The Resident Representative of UNDP, Sudipto Mukharjee said: "The most important thing is to remain patient and socially distance ourselves.

We got on board because we don't want people to feel dejected right now. Music can have a great healing effect on all of us. Everyone needs to be prepared for what is imminent and what must be done."
