Goodbye Ferdousi Priyabhashini

Priyabhashini was the first woman who openly proclaimed to be a ‘Birangona,’ a term coined by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman for the rape victims of the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971. Ferdousi Priyabhashini was held captive and tortured at the Pakistani camps during the Liberation War. She was later on declared a freedom fighter on August 11 of 2016. Born in Khulna in 1947, she was a prominent sculptor and an Independence Award winner. She passed away on March 6, leaving behind six children and countless people who love and respect her from the bottom of their hearts.
