Most googled in 2017

Google released its international search data for 2017 on Wednesday. People accused of sexual harassment and stories dominated each list. Though being accused of sexual misconduct with the release of the Access Hollywood tape right before the US elections, Donald Trump surprisingly did not make it to top 10. On the other hand, Sabila Nur, a Bangladeshi actor and model beat pornstar Mia Khalifa and Bangladeshi cricket team pacer Taskin Ahmed, in the People category. Dhaka Tribune’s Showtime presents the top Google searches around the globe for 2017 for people, celebrities, musicians/bands, songs/lyrics, movies and TV shows. The only topic from South Asia that made it into the global lists are “The Kapil Sharma Show”, an Indian stand-up comedy and talk show hosted by comedian Kapil Sharma, which premiered in April 2016 on Sony TV.
