Just few years ago Varun Dhawan went all in, by performing in Madhuri's iconic dance number 'Tamma Tamma' with Alia Bhatt in 'Badrinath Ki Dulhania'. They kept the original steps of Madhuri Dixit and Sanjay Dutt from the film “Thanedar”.
Just the insanely catchy old dance number, the new “Tamma Tamma” became all the rage in Bollywood.
As a matter of fact, both Alia and Varun received dance lessons from the icon Madhuri Dixit herself, to ensure that the song's magic remained authentic.
It is difficult to talk about Bollywood and not mentioning Madhuri Dixit. The 'Dhak Dhak' girl has always ruled over the hearts of her fans, who went ga ga over the gorgeous diva and her charming dance moves.
Many fans consider Madhuri the best dancer of Bollywood to date, and revere her as a dancing goddess. The diva can steal the spotlight right under the noses of today’s glamour girls, whether appearing in a reality show, or in a movie.
Madhuri and Varun brought the iconic dance steps alive as they shared the stage for the first time in Bollywood history, to perform for the upcoming Star Screen Awards.
Before recreating “Tamma Tamma” for the film, Varun revealed that as a kid he danced with Madhuri Dixit in a bus.
“My dad,David Dhawan directed a film named Yaraana with Madhuri ma’am and Rishi Kapoor sir. They were shooting in Switzerland. In a bus, we played songs and I used to dance with her a lot,” Varun told reporters in Mumbai, at the launching of the song.
“Madhuri ma’am recently told me that the way I used to dance with her as a kid, I could not dance like that on screen,” he reminisced.
