Dhaka Attack director announces extreme sequel

Director Dipankar Dipon has come up with a new announcement within just a week of releasing his smash hit success Dhaka Attack. To cater to the local audience, he has decided to make a sequel of his blockbuster film titled “Dhaka Attack Extreme”. After it's nationwide release in 122 theatres last Friday, Dhaka Attack has charmed movie-goers with its unique storytelling style, and an action packed journey to the gritty world of police vs terrorists. The movie garnered a massive Tk4 crore at the box office in opening week, and continues to smash records everyday. Confirming the news of the sequel, Dipankar Dipon said the project could be titled Dhaka Attack Extreme or Dhaka Attack Two. He is eager to begin working on the sequel as soon as possible, and is aiming for a 2019 release. “There will be no or a little change in the cast. But this time it'll be extreme,” Dipon said.Dhaka Attack, which is said to be the first cop-action thriller of Dhallywood, features a total of 238 characters. With Arifin Shuvo and Mahiya Mahi in the leading roles, the film boasts a heavyweight cast that includes Syed Hasan Imam, Alamgir, Afzal Hossain, Laila Hasan, ABM Suman, Shatabdi Wadud and Nawshaba, among others. Shuvo plays a daredevil cop, working with the police's bomb disposal unit in the film, while Mahi plays the role of a journalist. After a long hiatus, Afzal Hossain has returned to the silver screen with Dhaka Attack, playing the role of the Police Commissioner, while Shatabdi Wadud portrays another police high-up. To make this adrenaline-pumping story more realistic to the audience, the film also features a number of real life cops in the film. The creative team, comprised of director Dipankar Dipon and writer Sunny Sanwar jam-packed the film with explosions, car chases, and a small homage to Alan Moore’s Watchmen with a smiley button.
