Two arrested in Dhaka in possession of 5kg of crystal meth

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Saturday claimed to have busted a drug syndicate, with arresting two men from Dhaka in possession of 5 kg of crystal methamphetamine, which goes by the street name of ice.

One of the detainees has been identified as Khokon, the ringleader of the syndicate based in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar, reports UNB

Tipped off, a RAB team conducted a drive in the Jatrabari area and arrested Khokon and one of his associate, an official said.

"We have seized 5 kgs of crystal methamphetamine drugs, arms and bullets from their possession," said SP Imran Khan of Rab headquarters (media).

“This is the biggest ever haul of crystal meth in the country”, said Commander Khandaker Al Moin, RAB’s Legal and Media Wing director, told the media

Crystal methamphetamine is a stimulant drug. It’s stronger, more addictive and has more harmful side effects than the powder form of methamphetamine. It usually comes as small chunky clear crystals that look like ice.
