Syed Yamin Bakht, a former news editor of The Daily Star, has passed away at a Dhaka hospital at the age of 62.
He breathed his last around 9am on Saturday at the United Hospital.
Despite being admitted to the hospital with coronavirus infection 10 days ago, Yamin recently tested negative for Covid-19.
However, he then developed bronchial complications, leading to his death, according to his family sources.
Yamin had joined The Daily Star as one of the early members before he was promoted as the news editor. He later joined Grameenphone and retired as its director of communications.
