Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JaSoD) standing committee member and central vice president Habibur Rahman Shawkat has died of Covid-19 in Dhaka. He was 70.
Habibur, the deputy commander of Sector-9 during the liberation war, was also the law affairs secretary of Sector Commanders’ Forum.
“He breathed his last at the Corona Unit-2 of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) at 3:41pm on Monday,” confirmed his daughter Tanzila Rahman Chuti.
He was infected with Covid-19, she added.
