Senora recently became the feminine hygiene partner of Saff's 'Play On Period' project.
The project is an initiative of the AFC Dream Asia Foundation.
Its official pad dispenser was jointly unveiled today at a ceremony at InterContinental Dhaka by Purushottam Kattel, general secretary, Saff; Md Ferdousul Islam, head of media & research, Square Toiletries Limited; and Mahfuza Akter Kiron, AFC executive committee member.
Captains of the national men's football teams of six Saff countries attended the ceremony.
When conversations about menstruation stay limited to women, the taboo is hard to break.
The captains were there to bring male footballers into the conversation. Their presence sent a clear message: breaking the silence around periods is everyone's responsibility.
Under the project, a total of 14 pad dispensers will be installed across Saff's seven member nations, two in each.
The dispensers will be placed at each country's federation headquarters and women's football academies, where female footballers can collect sanitary pads free of charge.
To keep them stocked throughout the year, Senora will ensure a year-long supply of sanitary napkins to all member nations.
In line with the project's goals, coaches, physiotherapists and safeguarding officers will also receive training alongside the dispenser rollout.
Awareness sessions will be organized for female footballers as well.
Earlier on November 1, the first phase of Senora's partnership in the project was completed with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The ceremony was attended by team managers from six countries, Saff officials, Senora representatives and members of the media.
At the end of the event, the captains, team managers and guests took part in a group photo session.
They then wrote inspiring messages for young girls entering competitive football on the 'Pass the Confidence' board, expressing their solidarity with the Play On Period initiative.
