JCI Dhaka Sparks convened its 3rd General Members' Meeting (GMM) of 2026 on September 26 at the Sirajul Alam Khan Centre and Research Institute in Dhaka.
Local President Raihan Ahmed Dip chaired the assembly, which gathered over 75% of the board of directors alongside national leaders and visiting chapter presidents.
A primary highlight of the meeting was the official launch of the "Green Village" climate initiative.
Presented by director Sahaduzzaman Shrabon, the project aims to tackle deforestation and biomass loss in the Chittagong Division by replacing traditional firewood cookstoves with IoT-enabled eCook Induction Stoves from clean-tech partner ATEC.
Real-time carbon reduction data from the stoves will be verified under Gold Standard accreditation standards.
Local President Raihan Ahmed Dip announced a national Memorandum of Understanding with Hajj with Ayesha, granting all active JCI Bangladesh members a minimum 10% discount on administrative and service fees, as well as special package and ticket privileges.
Earlier, the chapter co-organized a training session on JCI Discover and JCI Explore alongside JCI Dhaka Astral and JCI Dhaka Young.
Conducted by NEVP Shahmina Isha Mannan, the session saw over 40 young leaders complete their core modules.
Six new members were inducted into the chapter: Mir Sadman Ali, Dr. Nazmun Nahar Hafsa, Fatema Tuz Zannat Bristy, Md. Samiul Haque, Tasnuva Rahman Nishim (Opshori), and Abrar Farhan Zaman.
Exceptional performance was recognized with Member of the Month crests presented to ASM Mosabbir Tanim (July), Tasnuva Rahman Nishim (August), and Moumita Siddika (September).
Special recognition was also given to past local president senator Noor E Alam Bhuiyan.
Activity and treasury reports were adopted, covering past projects such as Fight the Bite and PASC 2026.
Members were encouraged to prepare for upcoming events, including the 2026 TOYP Banquet at Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel on October 17 and the 2026 JCI World Congress in Clark, Philippines, from November 11–15.
