JCI Dhaka Sparks has launched its dengue awareness initiative, “Fight the Bite: Protect Every Child,” under the theme “Educate, Protect, Empower,” at Dr Azmal Hospital Ltd, Mirpur.
The initiative was organized in collaboration with OFRON and sponsored by MR Traders, bringing together around 40 participants, including doctors, patients, hospital staff, and other stakeholders.
The program began with a welcome address by local president Raihan Ahmed Dip, who spoke about JCI and JCI Bangladesh and highlighted the importance of community engagement in addressing public health concerns.
The event featured remarks from Dr Hazzaz Bin Mujib, CEO of OFRON, and the ICU Medical Officer of Dr Azmal Hospital, focusing on dengue awareness, prevention, and the importance of taking practical measures to reduce the risk of dengue, particularly among children.
As part of the project's prevention-focused activities, MR Traders donated mosquito nets to children, adding a practical protective measure to the awareness campaign and reinforcing the project's message of prevention alongside education.
Mir Sadman Ali, director of Dr Azmal Hospital, was present at the program along with distinguished doctors, medical professionals, and hospital officials.
The program was coordinated by Dr Fatematuzzannat Brishty, specialist in public health administration, and Mostafijur Rahman, PR and media committee chairperson of JCI Dhaka Sparks.
Through “Fight the Bite: Protect Every Child,” JCI Dhaka Sparks aims to promote greater awareness of dengue prevention and encourage communities to take proactive measures to protect children and vulnerable members of society.
