Midland Bank PLC formally launched its first Agent Banking Centre at Tarabo, Rupganj, Narayanganj, on January 23, 2017, to take modern banking services to the unbanked masses.
The bank currently operates 140 Agent Banking Centres in 29 districts and 71 upazillas nationwide.
The bank organized the Annual Agent Banking Conference 2025 at Lake Shore Hotel, Gulshan in Dhaka on January 18, 2025.
Md Ahsan-uz Zaman, managing director and CEO of the bank presided over the conference.
Agent owners and representatives of all the 140 Agent Banking Centres of the bank participated in the daylong conference.
Ahsan Khan Chowdhury, sponsor and director of the Midland Bank, who is also the chairman of the country’s renowned Business house Pran-RFL Group, attended and presented a motivational speech at the conference.
Amongst others, Md Zahid Hossain, deputy managing director, Javed Tarek Khan, head of the Institutional Banking Division, members of Midland Bank Agent Banking Rollout Committee, divisional heads, head of Branches, Business Development Officers of Agent Banking Centres were also present on the occasion.
During the ceremony, doa seeking divine blessings of Almighty Allah for the welfare, progress and prosperity of the bank’s Agent Banking and the country, were held.
A prize-giving ceremony was also held at the end of the conference. The bank distributed crests and certificates among the top performers in different categories.
