Mercantile Bank Ltd has appointed Md Quamrul Islam Chowdhury as the new managing director and CEO of the bank, according to a press release issued yesterday.
Previously, he was the additional managing director and chief business officer of the bank.
Quamrul is a career banker with experiences in three leading commercial banks – National Bank, NCC Bank and Mercantile Bank.
After successfully completing his Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) and Masters Degree with major in Marketing from the University of Dhaka, he started his banking career in 1983 as a probationary officer in National Bank.
