Following a rise in demand for smart TVs in the local market, Walton has stepped-up the production of the popular electronics product, said a press release.
Regarding the increase in production, Head of sales of Walton Television Department Maruf Hasan said: “Smart TV has brought a radical change to the television industry. Most of the buyers now prefer to buy smart televisions.”
He also noted that the market share of smart TVs has been growing very rapidly in the local market.
Deputy executive director of Walton Group Uday Hakim said that the local television market is fully import-oriented.
“But, the establishment of modern television manufacturing industries has made Bangladesh self-sufficient in meeting the entire local demand of televisions,” explained Uday, adding that a large portion of the country’s television market has been captured by local brands.
CEO of Walton Television Department Mustafa Nahid Hossain said that Walton has installed latest technology and machineries at its own factory in Gazipur, with huge investments, to instigate a revolutionary change in the technology sector of Bangladesh.
Walton has also set up the largest television research and development department in the country, aimed at presenting customers with high quality products that meet international standards, for which, Walton Television has achieved certification by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and a Testing Certificate from Standard Organization of Nigeria Product Conformity Assessment Program (SONCAP).
