He urged the investors to develop their plants in designated industrial zones, not in farm lands.
Nasrul said building industries here and there is not good for environment and this is also an “unhealthy business practice.”
He warned: “If you build industries in nonindustrial zones or on farm lands, we cannot assure you of providing necessary electricity and gas supplies to your plants.”
Nasrul Hamid was speaking at the closing ceremony of the 12th International Plastic Fair 2017 in Dhaka on Saturday as the chief guest. The four-day fair took place on February 15-18 at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center.
“I strongly discourage you all not to build industries out of industrial zones if you want necessary supports from our part. Building industries here and there is an unhealthy business practice.”
State minister, however, assured investors in industrial zones of supplying necessary power and gas to their industrial plants.
About the country’s electricity situation, he said the government has achieved “a lot” in power generation, though it’s yet to reach its goal.
