“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty winds, are likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna and Barisal divisions, with moderately heavy falls at places across the country,” said a regular bulletin of the Met office.
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged across the country.
A low-pressure area has formed over the Northwest Bay and adjoining West Bengal-North Odisha coasts. It is likely to move west-northwestwards.
The axis of the monsoon trough runs through Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, with one end extending to Assam across the southern part of Bangladesh through the centre of the low-pressure area.
The monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and strong over the North Bay.
