Low-pressure area likely to form over Bay in 48 hrs

A low-pressure area is likely to form over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining area by the next 48 hours commencing 9am on Wednesday, according to the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

The axis of monsoon trough runs through North Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across Southern part of Bangladesh.

One of its associated troughs extends up to Northwest Bay. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate elsewhere over North Bay.

Meanwhile, the Met Office has predicted light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind and lightning flashes are likely to occur at many places over the Chittagong and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over the Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, and Barisal divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country.

Day temperature may remain nearly unchanged, and night temperature may fall slightly over the country.
