41 Rohingyas, including murder suspects, arrested from Ukhiya camps

Armed Police Battalion (APBn) arrested 41 Rohingyas, including some accused in murder cases, during a drive at Cox's Bazar's Ukhiya camp. 

The drive was conducted on Friday at the 13, 18, 19, 17, and 20 no extensions of the Rohingya camp, by APBn-8, 14 and 16, said Assistant Superintendent of Police of APBN-8 Faruk Ahmed.

He said the drive was named “Operation Root Out” and several district police officers were deployed outside the camps so no miscreants could escape. 

Among the arrestees, six are accused of murder, three were found with drugs and four others are accused of other crimes. 

Later, 28 Rohingyas were jailed through mobile courts for different offences. 

The arrestees, who are accused of murder, were identified as Syed Alam, 55, Juanyed, 25, Mochhon Ali, 20, Md Osman, 34, Lala Futia, 25, and Soyeb 25.
