Anti-Rampal power plant protesters will send a letter to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, asking him to take steps to stop the construction of the 1,320-megawatt project near the Sundarbans.
The National Committee to Protect Oil, Gas, Mineral Resources, Power and Ports will hand the letter to the Indian high commissioner on October 18, according to a release.
Anu Muhammad, the committee’s member secretary, also made the announcement at a briefing at the National press Club.
