Prime Minister’s Adviser and Prime Minister’s Office spokesperson Mahdi Amin has said the government has a concrete plan to resolve the energy crisis and has taken coordinated initiatives in the electricity sector.
He made the remarks while briefing journalists on Monday afternoon after a meeting titled “Challenges and Future Roadmap of Bangladesh’s Power and Energy Sector” at the Secretariat’s Cabinet Division. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman chaired the meeting.
Business leaders and media personalities from the sector attended the meeting, with representatives from 21 business organizations present.
Mahdi Amin said work has begun to launch another Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) before 2028.
The government plans to operate five floating LNG terminals, including the new facility and the two existing terminals.
It is also planning to establish land-based LNG terminals, he added.
