The Power Division has set up a special control room to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply across the country amid the ongoing flood situation.
The move was announced in an office order issued by the Coordination-2 Branch of the Power Division on Monday. The order was signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Md Masudur Rahman Masud.
According to the order, the control room, located on the 14th floor of Bidyut Bhaban in Dhaka, will remain operational every day, including public holidays, from 7:00am to 9:00pm. In the event of emergencies, coordination will continue beyond the scheduled hours through mobile communication.

The order said 19 officials and employees of the Power Division have been assigned to operate the control room till July 31.
They have been instructed to immediately coordinate with designated focal point officials of the relevant power distribution utilities or companies if any disruption or technical fault occurs anywhere in the country, and to take prompt steps to restore electricity supply.
The officials have also been directed to inform higher authorities whenever necessary and maintain round-the-clock coordination with the Power Division's integrated hotline, 16999.
The order further states that any assigned official unable to perform duty due to unavoidable circumstances must arrange a replacement in coordination with another designated official to ensure the uninterrupted functioning of the control room.
