The Annual Performance Agreement (APA) for the fiscal year 2024-25 for departments and organizations under the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources was signed at the ministry on Sunday morning.
Following the signing, the APA Award for FY 2022-23 and the Purity Award for FY 2023-24 were presented. Secretary of the Energy and Mineral Resources Division Md Nurul Alam presided over the event.
At the event, Md Nurul Alam said that the APA is signed annually to increase transparency and accountability in government work, encourage effective activities, and evaluate performance. With the successful implementation of the APA, the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources ranked third in the previous financial years 2017-18, 2018-19, and 2022-23.
He expressed confidence that the ministry will perform even better in the future.
The secretary also noted that the inclusion of various targets in the APA, such as new gas well exploration, workover well drilling, gas production, LNG import, fuel oil import, construction of gas and oil transmission pipelines, and formulation of laws/rules/policies, has significantly expanded the activities of the ministry. These targets are accelerating the process of providing uninterrupted energy to the country.
As part of the successful implementation of the APA for FY 2022-23, Petrobangla was awarded 1st place, GSB 2nd place, and BMD 3rd place.
