Dhaka south’s BNP-backed mayoral candidate Mirza Abbas has not come out even once since electioneering began two and a half weeks ago, but he might cast his vote today, his wife Afroza Abbas said.
She visted a number of different areas, met supporters and polling agents and gave them instructions. “Ruling party men have been threatening polling agents to not work for Abbas,” Afroza said.
Asked about media reports that they are struggling to find polling agents because of threats, Afroza said: “We have got polling agents for every centres. All of them will work despite all the threats from ruling party supporters.”
She also said that she would cast her ballot at the Mirza Abbas Women’s Degree College centre at Shahjahanpur today.
