The Awami League has nominated AJM Nasir Uddin as its mayoral candidate for the election of Chittagong City Corporation (CCC).
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also the chief of the ruling party has taken the decision in a meeting at Ganabhaban on Friday evening, the Awami League’s Executive Council Member Saifuzzaman Chowdhury said.
Awami League, Chittagong City Unit general secretary AJM Nasir Uddin has been chosen as the mayoral candidate for upcoming CCC mayoral polls, the state minister for land Saifuzzaman told the Dhaka Tribune.
The Election Commission has fixed April 28 for holding the elections to bifurcated Dhaka, and Chittagong City Corporations.
The last date of submission of nomination papers is March 29.
