Police have arrested a central Jubo Dal leader from an area adjacent to Hasonnogor sadar hospital in Sunamganj.
The arrestee is Sohel Ahmed, member of central executive committee of Jubo Dal and the joint convener of the party's district unit. He is also the president of the party's municipal unit.
Sadar OC Makbul Hossain Molla said: “He was arrested on Sunday morning in a case filed over the clash at old court area on January 5.”
District BNP leaders, including Convener Nasir Uddin Chowdhury, former whip Advocate Fazlul Hoque Ashpia, Kalim Uddin and others demanded Sohel's immediate release.
