The police yesterday filed a sedition case against Nagorik Oikya Convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna and BNP Vice-Chairman Sadeque Hossain Khoka with the Gulshan police station.
The case was filed after getting approval from the Home Ministry on Tuesday. Rafiqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Gulshan police station, confirmed the filing of the case.
A general diary was also filed with the police station, accusing the two politicians of conspiring against the state.
Earlier, Manna was shown arrested in a case filed with Gulshan police for his alleged involvement in inciting the army to take over power. Manna is currently placed in a 10-day remand under the custody of the Detective Branch.
