The Somonnoy Parishad led by Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan has gathered near BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan office to lay siege to it demanding immediate withdrawal of blockade and hartal.
Hundreds of leaders and activists under the banner of Sramik-Karmachari-Peshajibi-Muktijoddha Somonnoy Parishad thronged at No 90 road of Gulshan 2 since 12:15pm on Monday.
Law enforcers were deployed in two-layered security net in the area.
Earlier, the minister declared a series of programmes including march towards Khaleda's Gulshan office on February 8.
Meanwhile, the activists of Mohila League are also staging demonstration near BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office demanding the same.
Later, police resisted them by putting barricades.
