The opposition leader in the parliament Rawshan Ershad has expressed sorrow over the incident that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was sent back from the gate of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan office as it was closed when she [Hasina] went to express condolences at her [Khaleda] son's death.
Rawshan came up with the statement with a heavy heart at the House on Sunday.
She said everyone became hopeful that the two leaders would get to meet each other, and the country's current political turmoil might end.
But we had to be hopeless, as this didn't happen.
She thanked the prime minister for her initiative to visit Khaleda Zia.
He further said Khaleda Zia might have been ill, but there were leaders like Moudud Ahmed, and her relatives, they could receive Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
She said I am saddened to see the incident, so were the nation.
She asked if the politics would remain without etiquette.
