BNP has called a 24-hour long countrywide hartal for Thursday.
Joint secretary of BNP Ruhul Kabir Rizvi made the announcement through a press release signed by Assistant office secretary Abdul Latif Jonny on Tuesday night.
The party has called on the hartal protesting the heinous attack on Reaz Rahman, former foreign minister and the adviser of Khaleda Zia, the chief of BNP.
The hartal will start from 6am of Thursday and will continue till 6am of Friday.
Unidentified miscreants have opened fire on Reaz Rahman, in front of Pink City Shopping Mall in the capital's Gulshan area on Tuesday evening.
The criminals fired four rounds of bullets on him and left the spot immediately. Later, he was rushed to United Hospital.
BNP chief Khaleda Zia condemned the gun attack and demanded immediate arrest of the attackers.
