State Minister for Home, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal warned if there is any attempt is made for sabotage on January 5, it would be resisted strongly.
He said this while talking to the journalists at the Gazipur City Corporation office at Tongi on Saturday, after attending the review meeting regarding the preparation of Iztema venu, which is beside the Turag river at Tongi.
Kamal said it is BNP's political decision whether they would hold a rally on January 5, which is not the government's concern, but it would be strictly dealt with if any attempt is made to violate the law and order.
The junior home boss categorically said political parties can observe their programs, but if their activities cause disturbance to public life, they do vandalism, arson etc subversive activities, we have things to do about it.
About the permission for the rally that BNP announced to hold on January 5, the day of the last parliamentary election that the party boycotted, the state minister said it is the matter of the police whether they will allow BNP to hold the rally.
“It is up to Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).”
