BNP: AL won’t be let hold rally smoothly

Just after a day of the Awami League's threat that BNP would not be allowed to hold rally, the has said if his party is barred to hold rally then Awami League will not be allowed to hold rally smoothly.

Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, joint secretary general of the party, made the statement in a press conference at party’s Nayapaltan office on Sunday morning.

“Mr Hanif said if BNP senior vice chairman Tarique Rahman does not withdraw his statement then BNP will not be allowed to hold any rally in the country. We want to say firmly that if BNP's rally is barred then Awami league could not hold any rally in the country smoothly as people will resist it,” he said.

On Saturday, Awami League joint general secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif said time has come to think whether Khaleda Zia will be allowed to hold rally, if Tarique Rahman does not seek apology and withdraw his remarks on Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Rizvi also criticised the government for arresting Jubo Dal President Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal.

“The government is saying it does not fear anything. They are in a relax mood then why such wholesale arrest across the country,” he added.

The BNP leader alleged that as the government fears of ousting from the office, it has taken the old-strategy of repression and suppression.

Regarding Jihad's death, Rizvi said the high officials had make misleading statements and the rescue operation was mere an eye wash.
