The government will strictly resist if BNP spreads any violence in the name of movement, Communication minister Obaidul Quader has warned.
He said getting no response from the people to their repeated announcement of mass movement, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is now threatening of mass upsurge out of frustration.
He said this while talking to the journalists on the occasion of inaugurating a bungalow at Islampur bus-stand area in Dhamrai on Saturday.
Roads and Highways Department constructed the bungalow spending TK 54 lakh.
At that time, the minister also said the government will not sit idle during the time of chaos and violence in the name of movement.
The government is strict on its position to save people's lives, he said.
He said, “BNP cannot do any movement, as there is no reality as well as that BNP has no preparation.”
He said a movement is comparable to a roar of the sea, but the BNP could not create even a small wave in the river so far.
The minister said to organise a movement, cases, oppression and imprisonment are to be gone through, but the BNP leaders enjoy comfort sitting inside rooms and calling for political programs. So they did not get any response to their repeated calls for movement. They won't be getting any in the future either.
Remembering the regime of the previous regimes, Quader said in the movements against the then BNP government, leaders participated more in number than the activists, many a times, when the activists retreated, the leaders never left the fields, rather they stayed firm against the police.
Additional Chief Engineer Shahabuddin Khan and Gazipur Roads and Highways Department's Executive Engineer Sabuz Uddin Khan were also present on the occasions among other officials.
