Fakhrul calls Joy 'imbecile'

Sajeeb Wazed Joy, son of Bangladesh premier, should refrain himself from talking like “an imbecile”, a top BNP leader has said.

Criticising Sajeeb Wazed Joy for his comments on Ziaur Rahman, BNP acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir made the call at a programme in the capital on Saturday afternoon.

Fakhrul said: "He [Joy] is saying that Ziaur Rahman's name should not be kept in the freedom fighters' list. I do not want to make any personal opinions about him. He is too young now. "If you make derogatory comments about Ziaur Rahman, you are refusing history."

He said: "You [Joy] will not be able to get acceptance from the young generation if you talk like the Awami League leaders. "A child calls the BNP autocrats. See your face in the mirror first."

Sajeeb, ICT adviser to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, on Friday alleged that the trial of the war criminals and Jamaat leaders has not been possible in the last 43 years due to the actions of BNP founder Ziaur Rahman, including the rehabilitation of Jamaat in politics.
