A 33-member convening committee of BNP's Sylhet City unit has been formed Saturday.
MA Huq, the immediate past president of the Sylhet City unit, confirmed about it.
According to Huq, DR Shahriar Hossain Chowdhury was made convener while Badruzzaman Selim made joint convener, approved by BNP’s acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
Among the other members in the convening committee were Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury, Ariful Haque Chowdhury, MA Huq, Nasim Hossain, Professor Maksud Ali, Abdul Kaium Jalali Ponki, Rezaul Hasan Koyes Ludi, Forhad Chowdhury Shamim and Emdad Hossain Chowdhury.
The last committee of Sylhet City unit was formed four years ago, in the month of November in 2010, without any council when MA Huq was made the president and Abdul Kaium Jalali Ponki made general secretary.
