A Dhaka court has placed Juba Dal President Moazzem Hossain Alal, along with five other leaders and activists of the BNP’s youth wing, for a three-day remand in a case filled for plotting subversive activities during Sunday's hartal.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Asaduzzama Noor passed the order on Sunday afternoon after Sub-Inspector of Mohammadpur police station, also the investigation officer of the case Nayan Miah, sought a 10-day remand for them.
The court rejected the bail petition filed by the defence counsel Md Sanaullah Miah.
The accused are Jubo Dal President Moazzem Hossain Alal, central committee member Saidur Rahman, Jahangir Hossain Howlader, Abul Kalam Azad, Kamrul Islam and Rubel Howlader.
Another accused of the remand petition Md Jahangir was released from the remand as he was ill.
The court ordered to send the accused, except Jahangir who is to be admitted to the hospital of the jail.
