Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her sister Sheikh Rehana Siddique and Hasina’s daughter Saima Wazed Hossain do not have public Facebook pages.
It was notified on Sunday in the Facebook page of Bangladesh Awami League.
The notification says: “There are some active pages by their names, while these pages may have been set-up by some well-wishers. The pages are unsolicited and in no way related to PM Sheikh Hasina or Sheikh Rehana Siddique or Saima Wazed Hossain.”
Earlier similar caution came from Sheikh Rehana's son Radwan Mujib Siddique when he said Rehana and Saima Wazed Hossain don't have any public Facebook pages.
Radwan shared this caution notice after observing activities of some pages in their names.
Noticing that a couple of pages being run under their names, the grandson of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has termed these pages as “unauthorised and do not represent their views in any way.”
He wrote there: “Please note that my mother Sheikh Rehana Siddique and my cousin Saima Wazed Hossain do not have public Facebook pages. I have seen a couple of active pages being run under their names and while they may have been set-up by well-wishers, I must stress that these pages are unauthorised and do not in any way represent their views.”
Dhaka Tribune has also found some of the pages being run under the names of the two members of the Bangabandhu family.
