Four local Awami League members have received injuries in a bomb attack by their rivals at Churamonkati in Jessore Sadar upazila on Friday night.
The injured are Vice-President of Churamonkati union unit of Awami League Munna and three activists Russel, Nanu and Manowar.
Sub-inspector of Sadar police station Enayet said: “Munna had been at loggerheads with ruling party activist Shukkur Member over the ownership of a fish enclosure.”
“As a sequel of the enmity, an altercation ensued between the supporters of Munna and Shukkur at Churamonkati Bazar around 8:15pm. At one stage, the followers of Shukkur Member hurled a bomb targeting their opponents, leaving four people, including Munna, injured.”
The injured were rushed to Jessore 250-bed General Hospital.
Later, the police visited the spot and recovered an unexploded bomb from the betel nut garden of one Jeher Ali in the area on Saturday morning, reported UNB.
