Vandalism: Chhatra League sues Chittagong GRP OC

Chittagong city unit of Chhatra League has filed a case against 17 Government Railway Police (GRP) personnel of Chittagong on allegation of beating some BCL activists in the rail station on August 27.

Ashraf Uddin Liton, assistant secretary of Chittagong city unit of BCL, filed the case against 17 including GRP OC Yeasin Faruq, with Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Moshiur Rahman's court on Tuesday afternoon.

After the hearing, the court asked Kotwali police station to take action upon investigation.

On August 27, the leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League had reportedly conducted vandalism at Chittagong railway station as they failed to get tickets of expected destinations.

The BCL leaders alleged that the GRP officials beat up some of their members at one stage of altercation over the tickets.

In face of protests, the authority suspended Station Master Zafar Iqbal, booking clerk Mohsin Ali and three RNB members on that day.
